This afternoon, Whaea Lisa and Mrs Owen got to spend some time with Ms Jamieson who is teaching the teachers how to use the ICT equipment here at Glenholme School. Whaea Lisa was lucky enough to be shown a new programme called Microsoft Research Autocollage which she thinks is awesome and wants to try with C1 after our art work. She experimented with some photos and look what she came up with.

Friday 16th September

Today, C1 was very successful in the Glenholme School 2011 Talent Quest. Sirayha won the whole competition with her awesome rendition of a popular waiata and our dance group T.E.K (Tiana, Emma & Kahlia) came 3rd overall. Our class item finished the whole contest on an all time high with a new waiata and haka. Whaea Lisa, Matua Luke and Atapo are soooo proud to be part of C1!!!! What an awesome pukana everyone, and Sirayha your beaming smile tells it all.

I chose this picture because when my mum was 18 she joined the army. This is a photo of her and her army buddies. It was taken at the army camp. She has a lot of stories from the army like the time she left her gun at the camp and they walked all the way across to the other side of the camp and she had to troop all the way back. These are Albatrosse's they are awesome birds. I thought it was interesting because they are the largest bird in the world (well I think they are) and they are native birds to New Zealand. I got this picture when I was in the South Island with my Mum and Dad. We were just having a bit of a holiday and when we went to the reserve, a guy there was handing out postcards and I took one.

Friday 26th August Our final photo for our first week of this challenge. Yesterday Matua Luke was holding the youngest member of our class over his shoulder. The children automatically thought she was "PLANKING", so I thought it would be interesting to put this shot of the youngest C1 child up.
